Christian MartínezI was born in 1970 in Cali-Colombia, where I began my musical Studies at Conservatorio Antonio Maria Valencia and Universidad del Valle.Later studies at Manhattan School of Music in New York  and Scandinavia, at Rogaland Musikkonservatorium in Stavanger-Norway and graduated from The Royal Academy of Music in Copenhagen-Denmark.
Member of The Esbjerg Ensemble - Denmark since 1996. This versatile group of twelve musicians, performs an extensive repertoire of chamber music from classical to contemporary works.
Contemporary music is in a constant move, in search for new sounds and creative possibilities and challenges. This gives the percussion an important place, for its enormous potential of colours and performing capabilities. I want to contribute to this development, by performing, recording and teaching about the repertoire of solo and chamber music with percussion, as well as commissioning new works for both genres.
